A No-Luggage Day Trip to the 2025 San Francisco International Pen Show

Our resident transit expert, John R., put together a handy guide for traveling to the San Francisco International Pen Show and back home to Washington State in one day. No need for luggage, a rideshare, or a hotel!

This year's show is August 29-31 at the Westin San Francisco Airport Hotel in Millbrae, CA.

2025 San Francisco Pen Show - A Day Trip!

Saturday and Sunday hours of the SF Pen Show are 10am to 5pm.

All travel information below is for Saturday, August 30.

Step 1.

Take a Saturday morning direct flight from the Greater King County Area. Options below.

United flight 2640

Departs SEA 7:00 a.m.

Arrives SFO 9:19 a.m.

Delta (SkyWest/Delta Connection) flight 3636

Departs SEA 7:15 a.m.

Arrives SFO 9:38 a.m.

Alaska flight 1166

DP SEA 8:08 a.m.

AR SFO 10:32 a.m.

Alaska flight 2078

Departs Everett (Paine Field) 8:21 a.m.

Arrives SFO 10:32 a.m.

Step 2

Take the FREE hotel shuttle from the SFO airport to Westin San Francisco Airport Hotel. Details are here under the section about the courtesy shuttle.

Step 3

[The latest nonstop flight on Delta departs San Francisco at 4:35 p.m. It's an option, but you'd have a very short day at the show.]

Additional Tips for Finding Affordable Flights

• Search for "Saver" fares (Alaska) or "Basic Economy" (United) or "Main Basic" (Delta).

• Consider flying on different airlines going down and coming back (instead of buying roundtrip tickets from one airline.
