Seattle Pen Club

About Us

The Seattle Pen Club is an eclectic mixture of folks from all around the Seattle area who have a shared interest in all things fountain pen - fountain pens, papers, inks, nibs, wax, seals, writing, calligraphy and more!

Founded in 2004, the Seattle Pen Club encourages the sharing and cultivation of our mutual interest in pens and stationery in a welcoming, inclusive, diverse and respectful environment. Membership in the Seattle Pen Club is at no cost, and happily extended to anyone interested in pens and stationery.

The Seattle Pen Club welcomes, respects and celebrates members’ individual differences (including personality, learning styles and life experiences) and group/social differences (including race/ethnicity, class, gender, sexual orientation, country of origin, physical or cognitive abilities, and cultural, political, religious or other affiliations).

GENERAL FOUNTAIN PEN CLUB MEETINGS, 11:00am - 1:00pm, Lake Forest Park

Are you a fountain pen lover? Feel free to join us at one of our monthly meetings. The General meetings are held every 3rd Saturday of the month at the Lake Forest Park Town Center in the Stadler Room. Come in through the main entrance of the Shopping Center (under the Third Place Books' sign) and head upstairs. The room is located in the back just to the right of the food vendors. Feel free to come a little early, around 10:00am or so, for coffee in the food court and some pre-meeting pen chat. To keep us afloat, once a year we ask for (but do not require) a small donation to help pay for the rental of the room.

Usually our meetings have an open-format agenda - bring pens, inks, papers or whatever you would like to show-off, play with, share with others, etc. If you join our mailing list, you will get emails about any special topics that may be covered in our upcoming meetings. A few things we've done in the past are:

  - Green themed inks, pens, etc. for meetings around St. Patty's Day.

  - Swap Day - usually around the holiday season, bring in your unwanted or unneeded pens or inks and swap them with (or sell them to) someone.

  - Ink Event - Bring any inks you would like to share, sell, trade or have other club  members sample.

  - How to Use Wax Seals - tips on how to get the perfect wax seal on your letter or envelope

  - Pen Manufacturer guests - sometimes we have a special guest join us and give us a demonstration of their fountain pen offerings.

 - Paper Swap - share your different types of paper that work well with pens and find a new inspiration for writing with your fountain pens!

EASTSIDE FOUNTAIN PEN CLUB MEETINGS, 12:00pm - 2:00pm, Redmond Center

This small group began as an off-shoot during the Covid pandemic. Originally held outside in front of the Kitanda Espresso & Açai in the Redmond Town Center, as winter approached and the weather chilled, it has switched locations to the SoulFood Coffeehouse in the Redmond Center at 15748 Redmond Way and is held on the last Sunday of every month. There is usually no specific agenda. We just meet to share everything fountain pen related. Come check us out!

VANCOUVER PEN CLUB MEETINGS, 11:00am - 1:00pm, Bellingham

Twice a year we go up north to mingle with our pen lovers in the Vancouver Pen Club. The meeting is open format - bring any pens, inks and stationery items you would like to show off, share, and/or re-home. We have a new location now in a classroom inside the Dakota Art Store in Bellingham at 1322 Cornwall Avenue. Their phone number is 360-676-8918. Click here for a link to their website.
